Equal Employment Opportunity/Non-discrimination
The amendment to the regulations has strengthened the four anti-discrimination provisions to provide protection against discrimination and harassment. For instance, the "Gender Discrimination Ordinance" has added new provisions prohibiting discrimination and harassment based on breastfeeding, which apply to multiple major public life areas such as employment; the provision of goods, facilities and services; premises and organizations.

Policy on Child Labour
The "Prohibition of Using Child Labor Regulation" was adopted at the 63rd executive meeting of the State Council on September 18, 2002. It is hereby promulgated and shall come into effect on December 1, 2002.
Policy on Hours of Labour
Implement a working hour system where the daily working hours of employees do not exceed eight hours and the average weekly working hours do not exceed forty-four hours. For workers engaged in piece-rate work, the employer shall, in accordance with the working hour system stipulated in this law, reasonably determine their labor quotas and piece-rate payment standards. The employer shall ensure that workers have at least one day of rest per week.
Policy on Compensation
If one party fails to fulfill its contractual obligations or fails to fulfill them in accordance with the agreement, and if the other party suffers additional losses after fulfilling its obligations or taking remedial measures, the party in breach shall compensate for the losses.
